Are Vervet Monkeys intelligent?

Vervet monkeys are very intelligent and cunning but highly strung and quite nervous by nature. They are easy to tame but this is a dangerous practice because they become treacherous and aggressive when mature.

They should not be kept as pets. A special permit, which is not readily issued, is needed to keep them in captivity, a practice that is not recommended at all.
