How far can cheetah run at top speed?

Although the cheetah anatomy is adapted for speed, it has little stamina. Charges and chases are seldom over a distance exceeding 250 to 300 m. Even when the prey is quickly overtaken, brought to ground and killed, the hunter usually appears to be exhausted.
